Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- 50 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 50 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

      A:

Lumber Liquidators takes pride in the quality of its products and is a leader in safety. We comply with all applicable regulations regarding our products, including bamboo and prominently state this publicly on our website (see web link below). Our solid bamboo flooring and accessories are manufactured with glue bonders/resins containing very low levels of formaldehyde. Most of these resins are capable of achieving emissions rates similar to Ultra-Low Emitting Formaldehyde (ULEF) products.
Note that solid bamboo is not classified as a (composite wood product) and is currently not required to comply with existing "The California Air Resources Board" (CARB) regulations for formaldehyde. However, While not subject to CARB regulations, Lumber Liquidators takes the safety of its products very seriously. Lumber Liquidators maintains strict written product standards specifying the maximum formaldehyde emissions of solid bamboo products. Lumber Liquidators also maintains a comprehensive compliance management and testing process to verify our solid bamboo products are safe and comply with our rigorous quality and environmental standards. We take numerous steps above and beyond what the law requires so that our customers get safe, high quality products. We believe our quality assurance and compliance processes are among the most advanced and thorough in the industry.

Rest assured, we do not sell products that do not pass both regulatory standards as well as our own internal testing. If a product or supplier does not pass at any point, we will not purchase or sell the product from the supplier. We comply with California regulations and our quality processes include testing in accordance with, and in addition to CARB protocols. Our products are safe to use as intended…. I want you to know we also use these products in our own homes as well. Lumber Liquidators is committed to transparency. Therefore, to learn more about our efforts to ensure high quality, safe products for customers like you, I invite you to visit http://www.lumberliquidators.com/safety to view our public statement found at the bottom of each page of our website.

What is the best method and products to use for routine cleaning of flooring?
Asked on 10/14/2015 by Candace from Eugene, OR

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk. Thank you for your inquiry.
How do I care for my floor / which cleaning products are best?
Proper floor care precautions are provided on the product installation instructions and on our website under Flooring 101 by typing in Floor care dos and don'ts (LL pdf

  • Q:

Can this flooring be glued to a 2x6 subfloor? Or does it need a plywood sheeting subfloor?
Asked on 9/27/2015 by bizzle from oregon

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This flooring may be Floated per instructions over your subfloor. However, when gluing this flooring, the 2" x 6" subfloor may expand and contract at different rates than the flooring causing adhesion failure. Isolate this movement by laying at least ½" plywood before installing.

If you opt for gluedown; plywood needs to be laid with 1/8" gaps for expansion (1/2" expansion around perimeter) and use ring shank nails or steel screws on a 6-8 inch pattern over joists. Stagger new plywood over old to prevent matching seams or run perpendicular to old. Liquid Nail between is a good idea too but not completely necessary.

  • Q:

Would this flooring be suitable in a dining room setting - chair movement etc?
    Asked on 9/1/2015 by asil

      A:

Yes this product can be used in a dining room, floor protectors are recommended.
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
      Thank you for your inquiry.
